Buckeye High School
This project was the largest building
replacement project in the State for the Arizona School Facilities Board
Deficiency Projects. Sullivan Designs provided MP&E plans for the new
two story high school building which included a central plant mechanical
system. The building design featured a kitchen/cafeteria, auto/metal/wood
shops, science and home economics classrooms and separate media center.

CHARTER/INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS
The King David School
This school is part of the Ina Lavine Jewish Community Campus near
Scottsdale Road and Sweetwater Avenue in Scottsdale, Arizona. The project
consisted of the mechanical, plumbing, and electrical design of five buildings
which included a 2,218 s.f. kindergarten building, a 10,092 s.f. lower grades
building, a two-story 14,742 s.f. middle school, a 8,310 s.f. multipurpose
building, and a 5,261 s.f. administration building. The multipurpose
building has been designed to serve as a religious sanctuary, a theatrical
performance area, a dining room, and as an arena for numerous indoor sporting
events. The master plan for the campus includes a future media center, art
classroom building, outdoor amphitheater, and an additional classroom
building. The facility is an independent, co-educational Jewish day school
for students enrolled in kindergarten through 8th grade and was opened for the 2004-2005 school year.
The construction cost was $3.7 million.

CHINLE UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
Mesa View Elementary
Mechanical, plumbing, and electrical design for new 82,680 SF elementary
school in the Chinle School District. Project consisted of four buildings
including a two-story classroom building, a single-story classroom building, an
administration building, and a multipurpose/kitchen building. The project
was part of the Arizona School Facilities Board projects and provide the
district with 42 classrooms for grades K-6. The focal point of the project
is the state-of-the-art media center and computer lab with a two-story octagonal
cultural hogan classroom. The multipurpose building incorporates a 2,600
SF commercial kitchen, a 7,600 SF gym/dining area, and an additional 3,800 SF
for music and art classrooms. The mechanical system consisted of split
system and packaged rooftop units to provide air conditioning for the entire
school and the electrical system included energy efficient occupancy sensors and

Chinle Junior High School Addition
Mechanical, plumbing, and electrical design for a new 21,800 SF
classroom wing to existing Junior High School. The addition added 16 new
classrooms, one new computer lab, and student use restrooms. The
mechanical system consisted of evaporative cooling with gas-fired heating.

Tsaile Elementary School - New Double Hogan
Mechanical, plumbing, and electrical design for a new cultural double hogan
building at existing school campus. Each hogan room is 700 SF with a
connecting hallway and shared restrooms. The electrical design also
included new lighting for the existing parking lot and bus circle.

This included demolition of mechanical and electrical equipment, the addition of air conditioning units and water source heat pump units, modifications to the existing electrical systems, field verification of existing mechanical and electrical conditions, and specification. GLOBE UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
High Desert Middle School
This project was part of the Arizona School Facilities Board's
school replacement program. The 83,344 s.f. school is made up of three
buildings and incorporates an administration area, media center,
cafeteria/kitchen, multipurpose room, and a state-of-the-art performance
theater. The school provides 40 classrooms for students in grades 5th
through 8th. On March 27th in 2003 Governor
Napolitano was on hand at the groundbreaking ceremonies and the school opened
for the 2004-2005 school year. The construction cost was $7.4 million.

Litchfield Verrado
The Litchfield Elementary School District has constructed a new middle
school of 98,985 SF to serve the new planned community of Verrado. Verrado
is referenced as "Home Town, Arizona" and this modern educational
facility expresses that very idea. Sullivan Designs Inc. prepared the
HVAC, plumbing, and electrical engineering documents as well as construction

Litchfield Dreaming Summit
Litchfield Dreaming Summit Elementary School is an 86,363 SF prototypical
educational facility in the Dreaming Summit neighborhood of Litchfield
Park. The campus consists of six pods of 5 classrooms each that surround a
spacious open courtyard. At each end of the courtyard are the support
facilities that include a 6,600 SF media center to the south and a 29,700 SF
building to the north that houses the multipurpose area, kitchen/dining areas,
administration, and specialty classrooms. The school is situated on 17.64
acres that include lighted parking lots with 176 parking spaces, two lighted
basketball courts, a baseball field, and a soccer field. A seventh pod of
5 classrooms was added to the site just after completion of the main building
which opened in the fall of 2004. The HVAC system designed by Sullivan
Designs, Inc. consisted primarily of packaged rooftop units and the electrical
system consisted of a 2,000 amp (277/480Volt) distribution network with a 20kW

Sun Ridge Elementary (Pendergast School #11) -
Sun Ridge Elementary is a 74,000 SF prototypical campus consisting of
four separate buildings. Three of the buildings are approximately 14,000
SF classroom buildings with supporting restrooms and utility rooms. The
fourth building is 32,000 SF and houses the state of the art media center, full
serving kitchen and cafeteria with stage, administration area, and specialty
classrooms such as art and computer labs. Sullivan Designs provided the
mechanical, plumbing, and electrical design for this project located in the city
of Glendale. The mechanical system was designed around package rooftop
units with outside air economizers sized from one to ten tons. The design
also included a make-up air system for the kitchen's type 1 grease hood.
The plumbing design featured electronic
sensors for wash fountains and flush valves. Electrically, a 277/480V
distribution system was designed for a new 2,000 amp service.
Street/parking lot lighting and engineered fire alarm drawings were also
submitted as part of the construction permit set. The school was opened
for the fall 2004 session for 500 students in grades kindergarten through eighth
